Your franking machine works hard every day to make sure that you are sending out post in the most efficient way – saving you money on postage costs, and time in dealing with applying stamps (and finding them in the office). With that in mind, how do you make sure you’re doing all you can to keep it running with the minimum of error, and prevent faults?
One easy way to prevent an inky catastrophe is to use the right consumables. It can be tempting to do a quick google search for budget inks that are compatible and load up your franking machine thinking you’ll save some money. The reality can be disastrous, as often these counterfeit ink cartridges are simply old ones refilled with inferior inks that may not last, give good enough quality – or sometimes leak - causing damage to your franking machine and outgoing post. These damages will not be covered by your regular maintenance and service contracts if you’re not using authorised inks, and might even lead to you needing a new machine – so it’s always best to use the approved inks from your supplier.
