The
Benefits of using a Franking Machine
What is a Franking Machine?
Using a Franking Machine is the simplest and most flexible way for any business to streamline their mailroom system and save on postage costs at the same time. See our range of Franking Machines for a mail room solution to suit your business.
A Franking Machine gives your business a more professional image, allowing you to add a logo or advertising message to all your mail items. The ability to use alternative advertising messages lets you to personalise your mail, making your customers feel that little bit more special. Franking Machines can be used for all types of mail: First Class and Second Class letters or parcels, Special Delivery and Recorded Delivery, even overseas mail.
When you rent or buy a Franking Machine from European Postal Systems, you will be issued Franking License by Royal Mail. See the Royal Mail website for further information.
Combining a Franking Machine with one of our Postage Scales streamlines the whole process even further, saving you time and money, and avoiding costly mistakes on postage costs.
Paying for your postage couldn't be simpler - simply top up your Franking Machine with a quick phone call. You'll never need to worry about running out of stamps again!
How Do I Send Franked Mail?
Sending franked mail differs slightly from sending stamped mail. Information on sending your franked mail will be found in your Franking License when you buy or lease a Franking Machine from EPS. You can download a copy of the license from the Royal Mail website, but for your convenience, here are a few guidelines:
- You must sort your mail by Class, then put it into a pouch which you can then put into a Business Post Box, have it collected as part of your normal Business Collection or take it your nearest Post Office or Mail Centre
- You must post your franked mail on the date shown, before the last collection time
Your mail can be sent in the following ways:
- First Class machineable mail pouch, filled with correctly orientated letters, sorted into different pouches for each format
- First Class traditional style pouch with mail sorted into different pouches for each format
- Second Class traditional style pouch with mail sorted into different pouches for each format
Pouches, trays and containers are provided to you free of charge when you contact your local Mail Centre.
